WIFE

The treasures of the deep are not so precious
As are the conceal'd comforts of a man
Locked up in woman's love. I scent the air
Of blessings, when I come but near the house.
What a delicious breath marriage sends forth . .
The violet bed's not sweeter.

HEAVEN’S BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICE

Ps 127:1 “Unless the LORD builds the house, its builder’s labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain.” It is in vain that we get up every morning and go to work. It is in vain that we labor, solicit clients, advertise ourselves, put up websites and market ourselves aggressively. Unless the Lord markets and advertises you, you market and advertise yourself in vain.

In Job 1:8 God is doing some marketing and advertising he says
"…Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil."

The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, and God knows where that client you are looking for is. God knows where that company you want to partner with is. He knows exactly what they need and that you are qualified for the work and will do it for them better than anyone else in this world.

Today, may Heaven’s Business Development Office take on your business. May God in his infinite mercy become your very own marketer and advertiser. May the angels of the Lord go on your assignment today. May the Holy Spirit speak on your behalf this words “Have you considered my servant (your name or company name here)? There is no one on earth like him/her/it” By virture of this may supernatural opportunities open up to you. May you have a supernatural influx of clients. May God increase and prosper you in your business beyond your wildest dreams. And for all the singles out there, may God himself whisper these words in your mates ear, for the set time to favor you has come. In Jesus Holy Name, Amen!

Big is Beautiful Too!

All beautiful you are, my darling; there is no flaw in you.
Song of Solomon 4:7

Objects of His Mercy

It never ceases to amaze me, how I can take a perfectly good teaching and stumble all over it. I have been learning about prophetic acts and how God uses them to move in our lives. As such, I have learned to ask the question "What do I need to do to see the breakthrough I am looking for?" a perfectly good question to ask. This morning in my prayer time I was talking to God about clients and asking him what I needed to do to always be closing deals. As I was doing so, the Lord led me to Romans 9 and revealed the condition of my heart to me.

Apparently, whereas the prophetic acts are good and must be done, I had began to rely on them as the source of the answer. That because I have sown a seed, or prayer walked or made certain confessions it would happen. Like magic! And if it didn't work that way, that particular prophetic act did not work. This morning the Lord said "I am sovereign. I do my will". He said to me, "You do the prophetic acts because they change the spiritual atmosphere, but your trust remains in me." Everything is a result of the great mercies of God. He blesses you out of mercy. He favors you out of his great compassion over you. It is never because of what we have done. Salvation, from sin, death, sickness, poverty, debt, torment etc is by his mercy and grace. There is nothing you or I will ever do to deserve God's favor. Not a single thing.

So he says in vs 15
"I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,
and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion."

We would all be wiser to go before the throne of Grace and appeal at the mercy seat for his help that our lives may go forward and we may experience extraordinary success in every area of our lives.

Vs 16-17 say it best:

"It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy. For the Scripture says to Pharaoh: "I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth."

It is not about your keeping the law it is about his mercy being effective in your life. It is about God saying of you " I will display my power in you that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth."

So does that mean we should stop with the prophetic acts? Of course NOT! They have their place, and they are indeed for a purpose. Jesus did not come to abolish the law. We are to keep on tithing, keep on sowing, keep on doing good, keep on prayer walking, making confessions and the like. Why? The answer can be found in Acts 10:4 "...The angel answered, "Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God." Your works and prophetic acts will come up as a memorial offering before God, and he will show you mercy.

vs 23 - 24 says that we are "the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory— even us, whom he also called" We are objects of his mercy and this mercy is what causes him to show us favor, causes him to bless us, causes him to endow us with supernatural skill, ability and wisdom. Our posture should be that described in Ps 123 below:

1 I lift up my eyes to you,
to you whose throne is in heaven.

2 As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master,
as the eyes of a maid look to the hand of her mistress,
so our eyes look to the LORD our God,
till he shows us his mercy.

3 Have mercy on us, O LORD, have mercy on us,
for we have endured much contempt.

4 We have endured much ridicule from the proud,
much contempt from the arrogant.

and we know that he never runs out according to Lamentations 3:22-23

"The faithful love of the Lord never ends!
His mercies never cease.
Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each morning."

We are objects of his mercy and his mercy towards us is fresh every morning. God will move us forward. We are only but helped! If it was not for his mercy where would we be?

SUPERNATURAL SKILL

Often in the work place and in business there is a need for supernatural skill, ability and wisdom on how to go about issues that arise. Problems that come up must be addressed God’s way, or we will never rise above the world. Some may trigger emotions of anger or resentment, but we have to work around our emotions to address the issues. Skill is necessary to handle directors, employees, suppliers, creditors, the bank etc. Thank God that he is the giver of skill.

Ex 35:30-35 talks about men who God endowed with skill for the building of the temple. We are all endowed with the skill to do that which God has called us to do in the market place. Take note that these were marketplace believers. They were craftsmen. God filled Bezalel with “the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts” May it be the same with us today. May God fill us full of His own Spirit, with skill, ability and knowledge in our particular fields and in our day to day business. On top of giving you the skill he also gives you the ability to teach others. You must always seek to pass on your skills to others. The result was that they became Master craftsmen and designers. You shall become a Master in your own field by virtue of God filling you with His Spirit, skill, ability and knowledge.

At our workplaces, the way we approach and tackle problems must be different from how the world does it. Like Daniel in Ch 1:20 we are to be found 10 times better than the rest. By virtue of supernatural skill, we shall be distinguished from the crowd. Our light will shine. Every problem that arises will be a reason for God to be glorified. We shall be like Solomon in 2 Chron 9:1-2. The Bible says that the queen of Sheba came to him to test him with hard questions. Verse 2 says “Solomon answered all her questions; nothing was too hard for him to explain to her” They shall come to test you with hard questions, but nothing will be too hard for you to explain in Jesus Name!! You are the God ordained problem solver where God has placed you. Do not conform to the image of this world, but be transformed by renewing your mind with his word!

Confession:
I am filled with the Spirit of the Lord, The Spirit of Wisdom and of Understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. I am filled with supernatural divine skill and ability in my area of work. As a result no problem is too difficult for me; no question is too hard for me to answer. I have the wisdom to tackle every problem that may arise and to address every issue. My mind is anointed to think higher than my peers. My hands are anointed with extraordinary, supernatural skill. When I get involved in any project, excellence is the guaranteed result. In Jesus Holy Name, So shall it be, for it cannot be otherwise.

Reckless Abandonment

A thought occurred to me yesterday. I have never really thought of family planning in any particular way. I just thought I would do it however I wanted to do it. God tweaked my conscience on it yesterday and I realised that I have never asked him how many children he had planned for me to have. I Know what I want, and I'm sure my husband knows how many he wants, but how many does God want us to have?

Lately God has been speaking to me about marriage as his plan to get Godly offspring for himself.

Malachi 2:15 "And did not God make [you and your wife] one [flesh]? Did not One make you and preserve your spirit alive? And why [did God make you two] one? Because He sought a godly offspring [from your union]..."

So clearly the children are for him not for me. I just have the privilege of raising them and enjoying them as they grow. So it seems only to make sense to me to go to him and say "How many do you want me to have for you?"

That is a scary thought especially when I read the quiver full websites and read about the Duggars with their 17 children. My main concern is not having them, it's raising them! I want to raise them myself. I really want to be a stay at home mom. Yesterday I was concerned about their provision. What would they eat and wear. Would we afford to give them a first class education? And then my best friend sent me Matt 6:31-34

"So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own".

It was comforting to know that God already has it all down. There is a Kikuyu wise saying that goes "Every child is born with his own things" meaning when a child is born, the provision has already been prepared for him or her. I know God holds my tomorrow. I'm still trusting him to show me the way and to tell me how many he wants me to have.

God has been speaking to me to be transformed by the renewing of my mind. To truly analyze my thinking patterns and to discern whether they are from the word or from the world. I choose daily to exchange my old mindset for the mind of Christ. Going against the grain is not the easiest way to go, but God is my help. Sometimes it takes blind trust and faith in him. He knows the way, and his thoughts towards me are always for my good. It's reckless abandonment.

Esteemed Worthy

God has been preparing me for marriage a long time now (it feels that way), and sometimes I wonder why it is taking so long. I know that he is preparing us both. I get really tired of the wait and sometimes I charge God foolishly. It seems that I keep waiting and nothing happens and I speak out in anger at the Lord. May God forgive my foolishness at these times.

Marriage is for purpose, for destiny. It is not just so we have some man or woman in our lives. There is a greater purpose. One of the purposes of marriage is found in
Malachi 2:15

"And did not God make [you and your wife] one [flesh]? Did not One make you and preserve your spirit alive? And why [did God make you two] one? Because He sought a godly offspring [from your union]. Therefore take heed to yourselves, and let no one deal treacherously and be faithless to the wife of his youth."

God is seeking a godly offspring from your union. It is the desire of his heart that we raise for him a godly offspring. A new generation he can use in this last days. We must never lose sight of that.

When I first read that it blew my mind. I had never thought of marriage as a good thing. I had never seen a good marriage in my life. Especially not in Kenya. All the women I talked to, said if possible I should never marry. Many of them even advised that I have children out of wedlock and raise them on my own. For the longest time, marriage was not on the agenda. In fact, I went the other way, totally feminist. I wanted to study hard, get myself a good job, make all kinds of money and be ready so that if I went astray and got married, I would be financially stable when my husband started acting up. I was convinced that all men beat their wives and I would tell my mom that the day he even dared I would be out of that marriage faster than he could say "Jesus", I would tell her not to worry about housing me and my kids since I would be rich, I would live in a 5 star hotel temporarily before buying us a house to live in. (Yes! I was messed up.)

God has had to do a lot of work to change my heart and mind on this issue. First of all he let me know he does not condone violence in marriage. For all you wife beaters read this:

Malachi 2:16 "For the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I hate divorce and marital separation and him who covers his garment [his wife] with violence. Therefore keep a watch upon your spirit [that it may be controlled by My Spirit], that you deal not treacherously and faithlessly [with your marriage mate]."

God will not have it. So he said to me, "I will not give you a husband who beats you." That made me relax a little bit on that issue. But now we had to deal with the issue of oneness. It did not make any sense to me to be one with my husband and keep things secret from him. Clearly that meant we were not one per se. I came from a family where the finances were kept separate. Mom had her money and dad had his money. Mom would never share her money with dad because that meant he was being oppressive. And since he was the man of the house, he provided everything which sometimes meant that things were tight around the house. Even at those times, she would never help out financially even though she had a better job than he did and earned more. And when she did, we would all suffer for it. That in turn made him very bitter and their marriage has been strained for as long as I can remember. I did not want that. I wanted oneness even in our finances.

I want to be able to have a joint account and not worry that my husband will take the cash and bail out on me, or freeze the accounts or whatever men do to create all the horror stories I have heard about joint accounts with ones mate. I want a generous husband. Generous to me and our children. I want to take part in the financial decisions made in our home. Many African men will not allow their wives to be part of financial decisions and that is not my portion. In fact if the man does that, I have heard it said that he is whipped! And you know men and the thought of being whipped.

Anyway, I have changed a lot in my attitude towards marriage. Marriage I now know is for destiny. It is for purpose and is to be esteemed in all things according to Heb 13:4

"Let marriage be held in honor (esteemed worthy, precious, of great price, and especially dear) in all things..."

It is esteemed worthy. It is of great price. It is precious. It is especially dear. Who ever thought of marriage like that?

Prioritize

Sometimes life crowds you in. I feel like I can't get breathing space. My every minute is filled with things that must be done. I'm tired and I'm not giving God as much time as I should. That makes it worse. I don't seem to know how to get back in order. I guess I need to prioritize again. Yes, that is what I will do.

Need for Speed

This week I have a need for speed. I have a lot to accomplish and very little time to accomplish it in. I am trusting God to send the Holy Spirit to give me a burst of energy that will get me where I need to go in a hurry.

1 Kings 18:46 "The power of the LORD came upon Elijah and, tucking his cloak into his belt, he ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel." That's what I'm talking about! Make horses galloping at full speed look like childs play.

Her Name comes from the Lord's Name Jehovah Shammah which means "The Lord is there, the Lord is here,or the Lord is with us."

Law of Reciprocation

The Kingdom of heaven is governed by laws, just like nations or organizations are governed by laws. One of the laws is the law of reciprocation. To reciprocate means:

To return like for like
To make some sort of return for something done, given
To give or take mutually; interchange.
To show, feel, or give in response or return.
To make a return for something given or done.
To be complementary or equivalent.

Hence we find phrases like these in the Bible:

"Give, and it will be given to you"
"With the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
"Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors"
"For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins."

This same law is what God uses between himself and us:
"We love because he first loved us."

Because he wanted us to come to him, he gave his son so we may give ourselves to him. He loved us so we could love him. He blesses us and we bless him back with worship and praise.

Now, that means that if I need something from God I must give something first to activate the law of reciprocation. If I want him to be concerned about my house I must be concerned about his house. If I need him to heal me, I must bring "healing" to him through praising him for the healer that he is. If I am lonely and I need his presence, I must make my presence felt in heaven by my worship of the King and by operating in faith.

Everytime you need something from the Lord or man, you must activate the law of reciprocation. If you want friends, the Bible says you must first show yourself friendly. If you want me to smile at you, smile at me first. If you want to get to know me, come introduce yourself to me and lets have a chat.

I really have never thought of it as a law before. Now I know!!!

Two sizes smaller

Believe it!!! I am two dress sizes smaller. I look like a clown in my old clothes. They are all too big and hang loose. I am very happy about it. I have lost 8 inches off my body. My weight loss seems to have stalled, but I have been lifting weights quite a bit and I'm sure I am gaining muscle mass which is good. Hence the smaller dress size, without very much change in weight lately. Although I have lost a total of 9 kgs (20lbs) in the last 10 weeks. I think that is pretty good. I still have not used the Suzanne Cox DVD and will have to report on it next week. So far so good. I was telling my best friend yesterday that I feel like I am being transformed from an ugly duckling to a beautiful swan. Matter of fact, I resolved today that moving forward I will wear full make up anytime I go out. I had stopped wearing make up because I didn't quite feel pretty enough. Doesn't make sense, I know.

HEDONISM

The definition of Hedonism is the "Pursuit of or devotion to pleasure, especially to the pleasures of the senses" Solomon having concluded that life is meaningless decided to test it with pleasure (Ecc 2). He pursued anything and everything he found pleasurable.

vs10 "I denied myself nothing my eyes desired;
I refused my heart no pleasure."

He started drinking too much in the hope that he would be happy in that intoxicated state... but nothing. The wisest man in the world, who God had loaded with godly wisdom gave it all up and embraced foolishness!! He knew that going the hedonistic way was foolishness but he did it anyway. How many of us know what he is talking about?! It always looks like the people who have embraced a life of pleasure are having more fun than you are. They think you are too uptight. You need to loosen up a little, but this pleasure still leaves them empty. Take a look at Hollywood. Solomon found no joy in it.

If you think you are hedonistic you have no clue. This man had more money than Warren Buffet, and he ruled nations. He amassed great wealth for himself. He built himself a Harem of 1000 women. Dude! It took him 3 years to make the rounds if he was to spend every night with one of them! And yet he asked in vs 2 "what does pleasure accomplish?" The pleasure, the drunkeness, the wealth, gave his life no meaning and no pleasure at all.

He threw himself into business, great projects, building, farming Gold and Silver mining, all for himself. He had servants coming out of his ears. Livestock galore. But still he was empty. Does that describe you?

vs 11 "Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done
and what I had toiled to achieve,
everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind;
nothing was gained under the sun"

He grieved the fact that after he had worked so hard to amass wealth he would then have to leave it to one who had not worked for it and as such did not have as much value for it. This tells me he had not taken the time to train his children well for the Bible says "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Solomon was too caught up in pleasures and projects to raise up a godly offspring. And we can tell that from the stories in the Bible about his lineage.

He did come up with one healthy conclusion in this phase of his experiement though. He says:
vs 13 "I saw that wisdom is better than folly,
just as light is better than darkness".

vs 14 "The wise man has eyes in his head,
while the fool walks in the darkness;"

How amazing is this? A man decked with the glory of God's wisdom, trashes it and decides to follow his own wisdom. So much as to marry foreign women who led his heart away from his own God. And the sad thing is that we are the same way. How many times have we also been foolish Galatians? Starting in the Spirit and ending in the flesh? May God deliver us from our own folly. And he hated life!! He had everything that we think will bring us happiness, wealth, health, earthly pleasures on every side, a harem of women to pick from, and new ones to pick from if he wanted to and he hated life.

We wonder why celebrities who seem to have it all commit suicide. This is it. They have tried it all and are still empty. Nothing makes sense. It is all meaningless. And they hate life enough to kill themselves. Hedonism is not the way to go. Indulging your every pleasure does not bring joy. There is more to life. There is that which brings meaning to an otherwise meaningless existance.

God wants you to work and to enjoy that work. To be fulfilled by it. That is a gift from God and we must remember to say thank you everyday for the work God has given us to do. If you are enjoying your work and amassing great wealth under the blessing of God, you are indeed blessed. However, if you are making all this money, gathering and storing away great amounts of wealth stashed in a swiss bank, you need to understand that we are in a season of divine wealth transfer. God will take that money you have hidden and stashed away, and will put it in the hands of those who will use it to bless others and to advance the Kingdom of God.

Is 45:3 "And I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that it is I, the Lord, the God of Israel, Who calls you by your name"

Solomon put it this way:

vs 26 "To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God..."

This is todays big question:

Are you gathering to give to those who are pleasing God, or are you pleasing God by honoring him with your lifestyle and your substance?

God's heart is that you will use your substance to honor him, and so get to keep what you have and even amass more. But if not, sorry... we need those resources to further the Kingdom, and God knows your swiss bank account number and how to get the money out of it. Stop fetching water using a basket! You will always find that there is none when you most need it!!!

Tithe Talk

I met my sis and her hubby for lunch today and for the first time ever I was able to share some real christian fundamentals with them. We talked about tithing and she actually seemed to get it for the first time. I told her about changes that others including myself have seen since we started tithing faithfully and she said she was going to start doing it starting this month. I could tell she meant it too. I'm really happy about that.

MEANINGLESS

I have decided to study the book of Ecclesiastes and to understand what Solomon was trying to get across. He seems so disillusioned with life. Life is a “Chasing after the wind” Reading this book, you almost want to give up. After all, “Everything is meaningless” Ecc 1:1 what a way to start a chapter, leave alone a whole book in the BIBLE!! I perceive that there is more to this wisdom book than we know, so here goes:

Solomon starts by saying that everything is meaningless, because everything just goes round and round in circles.

Humans – Created by God, born into the earth and then die and return to God and a whole other generation comes along. The cycle continues.

Wind – Goes to the south, then turns to the north, and keeps whirling around and around.

Sun – Rises in the East, sets in the west, then hurries back to the East to rise again tomorrow.

Rivers – All flow into the sea, which evaporates and condenses that same water to again rain on the land, enter the rivers and flow back into the sea.

All of it goes around and around. Clearly God works in cycles. We must learn how God works so that we can understand how we are meant to work. He works in Cycles of 7 years. We finish seven years and start again back to year one. God works in cycles.

He says all things are wearisome because you can never get enough. The eye never gets tired of seeing, the ear never gets enough of hearing, and clearly the lungs never get enough air. He found it wearisome, this going around in circles doing the same thing over and over again. He wanted to find the meaning of it.

He says there is nothing new in the earth, what is, existed way before we got here. That implies that it existed in God’s heart and mind and even on this earth, we are just waiting to discover it. Science keeps discovering new things, new planets, new galaxies, new cures for diseases. They were there all along. They are not new. We just didn’t know about it. But when God created the earth he knew that we would have need of this things and so he made provision for us.

The truth of the matter is, there is a cure for cancer, a cure for HIV/AIDS, there is another energy solution to replace oil, there is a solution for every issue. We just need to find it. God sent us on earth with everything we would need. The Bible says that before creation he had foreseen the fall of man and had already provided us a savior in Jesus Christ. So why haven’t this things been discovered? We will read about it later, but it is hidden in the verse that says For everything there is a time and a season.

The Bible says that “Wisdom is supreme, therefore get wisdom” but then Solomon says

For with much wisdom comes much sorrow;
the more knowledge, the more grief.
Ecclesiastes 1:18

That sounds like a total contradiction. I can only come to one conclusion. That he was relying on human wisdom, for the Bible says that the blessing of God maketh rich and adds no sorrow. The wisdom of God is a blessing and is the only wisdom we must rely on. Poor Solomon, he was carrying out experiments to see what worked and what didn’t as we will discover as we read on. And he found that nothing can satisfy except God. And serving the Lord our God, is the only purpose that will bring us joy in the earth.

Dark & Lovely

Dark I'm I, yet lovely...Do not stare at me because I am dark, because I am darkened by the sun.
Song of Solomon 1:5a - 6a

Open Doors

I shared with you last week that the Lord had spoken to me that the floodgates had opened and the things I was praying for were going to be answered suddenly. Well, guess what? One of those great doors opened up to me yesterday, and it was sudden. The thing with open doors is that they come with enemies. Paul said it ever so eloquently:

"For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries".
1 Corinthians 16:9

I refuse to be intimidated by the devil! The adversaries have only come to witness the goodness of the Lord towards me according to Ps 23:5 "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies"

So when your great and effective door opens, expect the enemy to come running trying to foil everything. Keep confessing that "No weapon formed against you will prevail" and please condemn every tongue that rises up against you according to the word of the Lord. This is what the Lord says about your adversaries:

Psalm 2:1-2,4-5

1 Why do the nations rage,
And the people plot a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves,
And the rulers take counsel together,
Against the LORD and against His Anointed
...
4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh;
The Lord shall hold them in derision.
5 Then He shall speak to them in His wrath,
And distress them in His deep displeasure:

Amen somebody?

Except They Be Agreed

My best friend and I argued about an issue that we just can't see eye to eye on. I feel horrible about it because there is discord between us. It has been a very long time since we saw things differently on any issue. We finally agreed to disagree but I hate it. I want to agree darn it!!! And of course, I want her to agree with me. How messed up is that? Clearly I need Jesus.

"Can two walk together, except they be agreed?"
Amos 3:3

Money can't buy you love!

Many waters cannot quench love,
Nor can the floods drown it.
If a man would give for love
All the wealth of his house,
It would be utterly despised.

Song of Solomon 8:7

SPEAKING HARSHLY

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one” Deut 6:4 He is our refuge and strength. It is in him we live, and move and have our being. He is our strong tower, we run to him and are saved. He is our hope; we trust in him and see the desires of our hearts accomplished. It hurts him when we speak harshly against him.

Malachi 3:13-15
“You have said harsh things against me,” says the Lord. “Yet you ask, ‘what have we said against you?’ “You have said, ‘it is futile to serve God. What did we gain by carrying out his requirements and going about like mourners before the Lord Almighty?”

How many times have you said in your heart, I have done right in business and yet it is the wicked that seem to prosper? I have waited for a mate from the Lord and kept my purity, yet it is the promiscuous that are getting married? I have been faithful and yet the Lord has not given me children, and here is someone on her 3rd abortion? How many times have you spoken harshly against the Lord, regretting service to him and following his commands because you did not see the desires of your heart accomplished when you thought you would?

Is 49:14 –16a

“But Zion said, ‘The Lord has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me.’ “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See I have engraved you on the palms of my hands…”

I know what that’s like, to feel forgotten by God. To feel disappointed by God (Let’s be real here). You hope and you confess, and you do all things like you are supposed to. And every time you get a different instruction. You ask him what you should do and he says “fast and pray”… nothing. You go back to him and he says “sow a seed”… nothing. You go again and he says “only believe”… nothing. Finally you say to yourself, it is better not to hope at all for “Hope deferred makes the heart sick” But God does not want us to feel that way. Delay is not denial!!! You promise is coming and when it does you will know that “…those who hope in me will not be disappointed.” Is 49:23b

Malachi 3:16 & 18
“Then those who feared the Lord talked with each other, and the Lord listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the Lord and honored his name… And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.”

Keep fearing the Lord, keep speaking good things about him, a scroll of remembrance is being written in his presence. Soon we will see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked. You service and your obedience are not in vain!

Flash Flood Warning

The other day the Lord began speaking to me about his "Suddenlies" that suddenly he will do it. The Bible says that the disciples were in a room worshipping the Lord and waiting for the Holy Spirit to come to them, when suddenly there was the sound of a might rushing wind. All the things that I have been seeking God for, waiting on him expectantly for, he will do them suddenly. This shall be your story too!!

He dropped the word "flash flood" in my spirit and as usual I studied it. First things first, a flood is defined as follows:

1. An overflowing of water onto land that is normally dry.
2. An abundant flow or outpouring: e.g. received a flood of applications.

Take note of the words, overflowing and abundant flow or outpouring. A Flash flood is defined as a sudden, violent flood after a heavy rain.

The Lord was saying to me that I am to expect, any time now, a sudden, abundant outpouring, overflow of all that I have been asking and believing him for. . It is possible to experience a flash flood without witnessing any rain. In this case, there would be heavy rain in areas upstream of your location. Some of you are looking at your lives thinking, there isn't even a cloud in the sky. And like Elijah of old, you are face down in prayer and you keep looking up at the sky and still you see nothing. Well, I am here to tell you that I have seen a cloud as small as a man's hand and I am sounding the trumpet to say, "I hear the sound of the abundance of rain!"

You have been praying and you have been sowing, and many times you almost quit. Had the Lord not encouraged you, you would have given it all up and settled for the next best thing. "Your prayers and your [generous] gifts to the poor have come up [as a sacrifice] to God and have been remembered by Him". Acts 10:4 and the floodgates of heaven have been opened towards you, it is raining up stream, even if you still can't tell. Be warned, a flash flood is making its way towards you!!! For "If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth" Ecc 11:3 You have been filling your clouds, with worship and praise, with prayers and supplication, with much weeping before the Lord, with giving and service to God. Your clouds have finally filled up and they have emptied themselves. The dam you have been filling just broke. A mighty torrent is roaring towards you. A flash flood is coming!

Flash floods occur within a few minutes or hours of excessive rainfall, a dam or levee failure or a sudden release of water held by an ice jam. When this happens, the weather department will give out a flash flood warning. A Flash Flood or Flood Warning means that flash flooding or flooding has been reported or is imminent - take necessary steps at once. There is no escape for you. Your blessings and the answers to your prayers have been released and they are coming towards you in a mighty flood. You will be blessed beyond belief, and everyone around you will look and say, "this is the finger of God". I decree rest for you on every side in Jesus Name!

Flash floods can roll boulders, tear out trees, destroy buildings and bridges. Every obstacle that has been standing in the way of your blessing is about to rolled out of the way. It is about to be pushed aside. Nothing can hinder the outpouring of God's blessings to you. No one can stand in the way of what God is about to do for you. The economic situation does not matter, the political situation is of no consequence, the inflation rate can do whatever it pleases, the blessings of God are coming your way, and no one and nothing can stop them. It is yours, and nobody can tunya you!!!

Because flash floods tend to be destructive, the weather department insists you take immediate action when a flash flood warning is issued. The directive: Move to Higher Ground!! Have you noticed how when you are blessed and everything is going well with you, there is a tendency to relax. All of a sudden, now that God has given you your own business, you are to tired to go to watch night on Friday night. Or you had a late night saturday with your business associates and can't make it to church on Sunday morning. Or now that the Lord has given you some real money, you can't be bothered with relatives who think you are a cash machine? Where did this come from? Now you associate yourself with the Elite of society because you were elected Minister of Parliament for your constituency, your old friends, who prayed you into parliament no longer mean much to you.

That devil is a liar!!! We will not be swept away by the flood. The Bible says that Pride comes before destruction. The flood is coming to enrich your land, not destroy you. Uproot any root of pride that may be in your life. Uprood any negative root that may be in your life. Do it now, before the water comes that will cause all dormant roots, to come to life, to sprout and grow. Have you ever wondered why people get blessed and change for the worse? It is because a destructive root had been lying dormant in their lives, waiting for some moisture just so it may sprout and grow. Rearing its ugly head.

Deserts are very interesting places, and experience a lot of flash flooding. When this happens, dormant roots and seeds all of a sudden sprout and in days, you can find that the desert is a meadow with grass and beautiful flowers. The thing is, these plants know they have just a short time to grow, bloom, pollinate and perpetuate the next generation before they die. So everything is done in record speed. Pride is like that in our lives. It lies dormant waiting for opportunity. The moment you are blessed it quickly grows, and multiplies itself, and as it does this it ensures that your destruction will come. Why? Because "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." James 5:6 the devil knows that the way to ensure you do not stay blessed for long is to activate pride in your life, causing God to oppose you. But that shall not be your story!!!

You will live a long time in the land your God has given you because humility is your portion. Look at these verses on what happens to the proud:

Job 40:11
Unleash the fury of your wrath, look at every proud man and bring him low

Job 40:12
look at every proud man and humble him, crush the wicked where they stand.

Psalm 31:23
Love the LORD, all his saints! The LORD preserves the faithful, but the proud he pays back in full.

Psalm 94:2
Rise up, O Judge of the earth; pay back to the proud what they deserve.

Psalm 138:6
Though the LORD is on high, he looks upon the lowly, but the proud he knows from afar.

Proverbs 3:34
He mocks proud mockers but gives grace to the humble.

Proverbs 15:25
The LORD tears down the proud man's house but he keeps the widow's boundaries intact.

Proverbs 16:5
The LORD detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished.

Proverbs 18:12
Before his downfall a man's heart is proud, but humility comes before honor.

Proverbs 21:4
Haughty eyes and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, are sin!

Luke 1:51
He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.

If that doesn't put the fear of God in you about avoiding pride, nothing will!! So what do we do? God has given us the way out. Move to higher ground. Seek the Lord more. Ask him to preserve you when the wealth, health and other blessings come. And how shall we then be preserved? By walking in humility before God and man.

Luke 14:11
For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."

James 4:10
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

1 Peter 5:6
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

Don't wait for God to humble you, that will be a painful experience. You humble yourself before Him and let Him lift you up!

Sabbath Covenant - A Covenant of Rest

A week or so ago I was on my way home when the Lord started talking to me about his Jubilee's. I had no idea what he was talking about. All I knew was that there was a year of Jubilee and that was it. He said to me at that moment "study my Jubilee's" So I went home and did just that and this is what I discovered. There are mini Jubilee's that lead to the year of Jubilee, the 50th year. This is how they are counted:

The Seventh day, the Sabbath is a Jubilee.
In the Seventh Month, they celebrated the day of Atonement which is also a Jubilee.
The Seventh year, the sabbatical or sabbath year is a Jubilee.
Seven Sabbath years, i.e Seven cycles of 7 Seven years each, i.e. 49 years are then counted off and God makes the 50th year a year of Jubilee.

So the Seventh day, the Seventh month, the seventh year, and the Fiftieth year are Jubilee's to the Lord.

I have always known that we go to church on sunday and that it is a Sabbath of rest, but I never knew that the sabbath was to be a lasting covenant throughout our generations forever. But the bible says so clearly:

Exodus 31:16
The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant.
and we are spiritual Israel.

The Sabbath Covenant is a covenant of rest. It is a time when we enter into the rest of the Lord, not just physically, but in every dimension. Spiritually, emotionally, mentally, in our relationships, in our businesses, in every way we are to enter rest. On the Sabbath of the Lord, we are to think only of him, and to do good works in the Lord. To serve others, not just our own selfish ambitions. Jesus said that he is Lord of the Sabbath, and so on that day we are to Honor the Lord of the Sabbath, who is Jesus Christ. We are to take time out to refresh ourselves in the Lord. What a blessing!! And as we do so God will bring rest into every area of our lives. We will be able to say with King Solomon:

1 Kings 5:4
But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side, and there is no adversary or disaster.

Entering rest in every area of your life is predicated on your observations of the Sabbaths of the Lord. You must have seasons where everything you do is focused in on him. Seasons where it is not about you but about Jesus. Seasons of rest and refreshing for your spirit and for your soul.

We are in the Month of Abib in the Hebrew calendar (God's calendar) the first month of God's year. The Lord said to me, observe my Sabbaths, on the Seventh day, on the Seventh Month, on the Seventh year and on the 50th year and I will give you rest. Of course the question arose in me, how will I observe a whole month of rest, or a whole year of rest? How do I translate this thing into my life now. So the Lord said to me (and this is not a command for you or anyone else, just what he led me to do), Give everything you earn at that time to me, to meet the needs of the poor, the needy, the widow, the orphan, set the captives free with it by financing ministries that are spreading the Gospel and bringing healing in the lives of many.

That was all fine and dandy except that I didn't know how I was going to support myself if I gave away all my earnings for year 7. How was I going to make it? The Lord has all these answers even before we ask the questions. It so happens that the Israelites had been in the same dilemma. And the Lord's answer to them, was his answer to me:

Lev 25:6
"Whatever the land yields during the sabbath year will be food for you"

He says you can eat food from it. You can get sustenance from it, enough for your necessities, but you are not to bring it in as a harvest for storage, in order that the poor and the needy, the alien and the fatherless among you may eat. In that seventh year I can have enough to sustain me. Enough for my necessities only, and the rest must go out. I must not keep it, because it becomes Holy to the Lord. He also gives a wonderful promise about the sixth year. He says this:

Lev 25:20-22
You may ask, "What will we eat in the seventh year if we do not plant or harvest our crops?" I will send you such a blessing in the sixth year that the land will yield enough for three years. While you plant during the eighth year, you will eat from the old crop and will continue to eat from it until the harvest of the ninth year comes in.

You will have super-abundance in the sixth year, so that you have more than enough to live on in the seventh year, and you will still be eating of the sixth year even in the eighth year. And the word of God is true. That is the Sabbath of rest in action. You enter into serving God and giving to him, and taking seasons out to focus on him, and he in turn ensures that you will have absolutely nothing to worry about. Amen!!

After counting off this 7 sabbath years, I will then celebrate the Year of Jubilee, the 50th year!!! That will be a celebration and a half, for me and my generations after me. I intend to teach them this principle.

Now, let us look at the results of observing the Sabbaths of the Lord on the Seventh Day, Seventh Month, Seventh Year and 50th year.

Lev 25:18-19
" 'Follow my decrees and be careful to obey my laws, and you will live safely in the land. Then the land will yield its fruit, and you will eat your fill and live there in safety."

Isaiah 56:2
Blessed is the man who does this, the man who holds it fast, who keeps the Sabbath without desecrating it, and keeps his hand from doing any evil."

Isaiah 56
3 Let no foreigner who has bound himself to the LORD say,
"The LORD will surely exclude me from his people."
And let not any eunuch complain,
"I am only a dry tree."

4 For this is what the LORD says:
"To the eunuchs who keep my Sabbaths,
who choose what pleases me
and hold fast to my covenant-

5 to them I will give within my temple and its walls
a memorial and a name
better than sons and daughters;
I will give them an everlasting name
that will not be cut off.

6 And foreigners who bind themselves to the LORD
to serve him,
to love the name of the LORD,
and to worship him,
all who keep the Sabbath without desecrating it
and who hold fast to my covenant-

7 these I will bring to my holy mountain
and give them joy in my house of prayer.
Their burnt offerings and sacrifices
will be accepted on my altar;

for my house will be called
a house of prayer for all nations."

What wonderful promises for those who keep the Sabbaths of the Lord! I am convinced that the enemy is against us trully understanding the word of God because of the amazing promise and power that doing so holds for us. And the sabbath of rest is still open to each one of us. Paul says in the book of Hebrews 4

"1THEREFORE, WHILE the promise of entering His rest still holds and is offered [today], let us be afraid [[a]to distrust it], lest any of you should [b]think he has come too late and has come short of [reaching] it...

7Again He sets a definite day, [a new] Today, [and gives another opportunity of securing that rest] saying through David after so long a time in the words already quoted, Today, if you would hear His voice and when you hear it, do not harden your hearts.(D)

8[This mention of a rest was not a reference to their entering into Canaan.] For if Joshua had given them rest, He [God] would not speak afterward about another day.

9So then, there is still awaiting a full and complete Sabbath-rest reserved for the [true] people of God;

10For he who has once entered [God's] rest also has ceased from [the weariness and pain] of human labors, just as God rested from those labors [f]peculiarly His own.(E)

11Let us therefore be zealous and exert ourselves and strive diligently to enter that rest [of God, to know and experience it for ourselves], that no one may fall or perish by the same kind of unbelief and disobedience [into which those in the wilderness fell]."

That is where I'm at. I am zealously exerting myself, striving diligently to enter the rest of God, to know him and experience him for myself on a daily basis, and especially by taking time off my own labour, labours to profit just me, that I may seek him, worship him, and do the works of him who sent me. That others may be set free, that others may eat and be filled of the bounty that my Lord has given me. And the Lord in turn has secured my portion. The Lot has fallen for me in pleasant places. My land is well watered, I eat my fill daily and live here in safety. For the Lord my God has given me rest on every side.

The Promise of rest is for you and me today. I step into the covenant of rest, rest from toil, from my human labors. Won't you join me?

Marketing in the Holy Ghost

Wow! I am blown away by God this morning. I know that when God says something it is true on every level. Today this verse has taken on a whole new dimension!

John 14:26
“But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you”.

Next week I will be faced with the task of marketing the company’s services to clients abroad who have never seen us, heard of us or even heard anything good about Kenya. Especially after the recent post election violence that was broadcasted the world over in all its horror. Needless to say, I have not been looking forward to this part of things. God just kept saying, the situation had to get bad so you could see the mighty hand of the Lord. Well, this morning I was praying about seeing new opportunities, seeing new things in the market that will create a niche for us when the Lord led me to look at the Holy Spirit. He said you are asking me to do the work of the Holy Ghost, look to him, that’s his duty. I’m learning that God runs heaven like a well oiled machine. Everyone has their place and their duties and that is what they do. The Holy Spirit does not do the work of the angels, and the Cherubim do not try to do the work of the Seraphim. Each one knows their job description and they stick to it!!

So I went to the Holy Spirit and asked him to come help me out so that I will not work in vain, and so that we may experience divine favor. Having read John 14:26 in the Amplified and seeing the breakdown of the word comforter, I went to my dictionary to check out what those words mean and how they relate to marketing. This is what I discovered:

Counselor
A person who gives advice – The Holy Spirit will advice me on what to say, how to say it, and how to position my company for maximum results. He is everywhere and sees every opportunity that is out there, so his help is invaluable to me.

Intercessor
Prayer, petition, or entreaty in favor of another
One who negotiates between parties seeking mutual agreement

The Holy Spirit will petition clients in my favor. He will cause them to say “I don’t know why, but I feel we should go with this Kenyan company". And he will negotiate for both of us a win-win situation. There will be no loss or destruction within my borders.

Helper
One that helps
An aide

He will come in to assist me in my marketing efforts so that my work bears fruit, and thereafter he will help with running the account and ensuring maximum profitability.

Advocate
One that pleads the cause of another
One that defends or maintains a cause or proposal
One that supports or promotes the interests of another
A person who supports someone to make their voice heard

Hallelujah! When the clients receive my proposal the Holy Spirit will speak in defense of it, to support and to promote it. He will make my voice to be heard and will plead my cause to my clients. Who can withstand the voice of the Lord!!!!

Strengthener
To make stronger
Something used to give additional strength

He will back me up. He will strengthen me and uphold me. I will stand strong in the face of competitors. I will have additional oomph! Straight from heaven.

Standby
One to be relied on especially in emergencies
A favorite or reliable choice or resource
One that is held in reserve ready for use
Ready or available for immediate action or use
State of readiness without being immediately involved

Even now he stands ready for immediate action. He is my standby, my favorite and most reliable resource. Do you see it? The Holy Spirit has been given to you by God as a divine resource. Put him to work in your business. He is just itching to go at it. What has withstood you so far? What dilemma are you facing? What obstacle has refused to move? Which challenge is defying you? Let you most reliable resource go to work for you. Use the Holy Spirit especially in emergencies when you don’t know what next. He is on standby; Ready and Waiting to go to work on your behalf!!

Hallelujah to the Father, Hallelujah to the Son, Hallelujah to the Holy Spirit. Surely we have not been left like orphans, with no one to help us or to plead our cause on the earth and in heaven above. We have the Holy Spirit! Blessed be the name of the Lord!!!

Come and take immediate action Holy Spirit of the Living God. Step into every area of my life and be my comforter, my counselor, my intercessor, my helper, my advocate, my strengthener and my standby. I invite you to have free reign in my business. Show me how to work smarter, bring super-abundant productivity and fruitfulness into my life so that I do a lot in a short period of time. Make me an invaluable asset in my job, my family, my industry and my generation. To the Glory of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. In Jesus name I pray. Amen!
