Flash Flood Warning

The other day the Lord began speaking to me about his "Suddenlies" that suddenly he will do it. The Bible says that the disciples were in a room worshipping the Lord and waiting for the Holy Spirit to come to them, when suddenly there was the sound of a might rushing wind. All the things that I have been seeking God for, waiting on him expectantly for, he will do them suddenly. This shall be your story too!!

He dropped the word "flash flood" in my spirit and as usual I studied it. First things first, a flood is defined as follows:

1. An overflowing of water onto land that is normally dry.
2. An abundant flow or outpouring: e.g. received a flood of applications.

Take note of the words, overflowing and abundant flow or outpouring. A Flash flood is defined as a sudden, violent flood after a heavy rain.

The Lord was saying to me that I am to expect, any time now, a sudden, abundant outpouring, overflow of all that I have been asking and believing him for. . It is possible to experience a flash flood without witnessing any rain. In this case, there would be heavy rain in areas upstream of your location. Some of you are looking at your lives thinking, there isn't even a cloud in the sky. And like Elijah of old, you are face down in prayer and you keep looking up at the sky and still you see nothing. Well, I am here to tell you that I have seen a cloud as small as a man's hand and I am sounding the trumpet to say, "I hear the sound of the abundance of rain!"

You have been praying and you have been sowing, and many times you almost quit. Had the Lord not encouraged you, you would have given it all up and settled for the next best thing. "Your prayers and your [generous] gifts to the poor have come up [as a sacrifice] to God and have been remembered by Him". Acts 10:4 and the floodgates of heaven have been opened towards you, it is raining up stream, even if you still can't tell. Be warned, a flash flood is making its way towards you!!! For "If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth" Ecc 11:3 You have been filling your clouds, with worship and praise, with prayers and supplication, with much weeping before the Lord, with giving and service to God. Your clouds have finally filled up and they have emptied themselves. The dam you have been filling just broke. A mighty torrent is roaring towards you. A flash flood is coming!

Flash floods occur within a few minutes or hours of excessive rainfall, a dam or levee failure or a sudden release of water held by an ice jam. When this happens, the weather department will give out a flash flood warning. A Flash Flood or Flood Warning means that flash flooding or flooding has been reported or is imminent - take necessary steps at once. There is no escape for you. Your blessings and the answers to your prayers have been released and they are coming towards you in a mighty flood. You will be blessed beyond belief, and everyone around you will look and say, "this is the finger of God". I decree rest for you on every side in Jesus Name!

Flash floods can roll boulders, tear out trees, destroy buildings and bridges. Every obstacle that has been standing in the way of your blessing is about to rolled out of the way. It is about to be pushed aside. Nothing can hinder the outpouring of God's blessings to you. No one can stand in the way of what God is about to do for you. The economic situation does not matter, the political situation is of no consequence, the inflation rate can do whatever it pleases, the blessings of God are coming your way, and no one and nothing can stop them. It is yours, and nobody can tunya you!!!

Because flash floods tend to be destructive, the weather department insists you take immediate action when a flash flood warning is issued. The directive: Move to Higher Ground!! Have you noticed how when you are blessed and everything is going well with you, there is a tendency to relax. All of a sudden, now that God has given you your own business, you are to tired to go to watch night on Friday night. Or you had a late night saturday with your business associates and can't make it to church on Sunday morning. Or now that the Lord has given you some real money, you can't be bothered with relatives who think you are a cash machine? Where did this come from? Now you associate yourself with the Elite of society because you were elected Minister of Parliament for your constituency, your old friends, who prayed you into parliament no longer mean much to you.

That devil is a liar!!! We will not be swept away by the flood. The Bible says that Pride comes before destruction. The flood is coming to enrich your land, not destroy you. Uproot any root of pride that may be in your life. Uprood any negative root that may be in your life. Do it now, before the water comes that will cause all dormant roots, to come to life, to sprout and grow. Have you ever wondered why people get blessed and change for the worse? It is because a destructive root had been lying dormant in their lives, waiting for some moisture just so it may sprout and grow. Rearing its ugly head.

Deserts are very interesting places, and experience a lot of flash flooding. When this happens, dormant roots and seeds all of a sudden sprout and in days, you can find that the desert is a meadow with grass and beautiful flowers. The thing is, these plants know they have just a short time to grow, bloom, pollinate and perpetuate the next generation before they die. So everything is done in record speed. Pride is like that in our lives. It lies dormant waiting for opportunity. The moment you are blessed it quickly grows, and multiplies itself, and as it does this it ensures that your destruction will come. Why? Because "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." James 5:6 the devil knows that the way to ensure you do not stay blessed for long is to activate pride in your life, causing God to oppose you. But that shall not be your story!!!

You will live a long time in the land your God has given you because humility is your portion. Look at these verses on what happens to the proud:

Job 40:11
Unleash the fury of your wrath, look at every proud man and bring him low

Job 40:12
look at every proud man and humble him, crush the wicked where they stand.

Psalm 31:23
Love the LORD, all his saints! The LORD preserves the faithful, but the proud he pays back in full.

Psalm 94:2
Rise up, O Judge of the earth; pay back to the proud what they deserve.

Psalm 138:6
Though the LORD is on high, he looks upon the lowly, but the proud he knows from afar.

Proverbs 3:34
He mocks proud mockers but gives grace to the humble.

Proverbs 15:25
The LORD tears down the proud man's house but he keeps the widow's boundaries intact.

Proverbs 16:5
The LORD detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished.

Proverbs 18:12
Before his downfall a man's heart is proud, but humility comes before honor.

Proverbs 21:4
Haughty eyes and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, are sin!

Luke 1:51
He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.

If that doesn't put the fear of God in you about avoiding pride, nothing will!! So what do we do? God has given us the way out. Move to higher ground. Seek the Lord more. Ask him to preserve you when the wealth, health and other blessings come. And how shall we then be preserved? By walking in humility before God and man.

Luke 14:11
For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."

James 4:10
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

1 Peter 5:6
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

Don't wait for God to humble you, that will be a painful experience. You humble yourself before Him and let Him lift you up!
